Donations, volunteering and jobs
Support our work
We are actively seeking donations to support our work. Demand for our services is rising as the austerity measures start to impact on already vulnerable people.
Our own tenants are feeling the squeeze as the cost of living rises out of all proportion to their already modest incomes. Many are pensioners with limited, if any, savings.
Youth unemployment and concerns about university fees are also affecting our younger tenants.

Today we support over 300 vulnerable people. But we have the capacity, skills and drive to do much more, for more people. We have our own resources and with match funding can put them to much better use in north-west London.

Volunteer some of your time
We run regular activities at Ewart House that other Harrow residents are welcome to join and also hope to offer regular trips and outings for local people who rarely get the chance to enjoy a day trip. Some of these sessions are run in association with the Age UK in Harrow.
Packed work schedules mean our Ewart House staff have only limited time to spare for activities so any voluntary help is very welcome.
Some may need specialist expertise, like teaching people to use a computer or the internet. Others just need energy, boundless enthusiasm and, in the case of our popular Bingo sessions, a loud voice to call the numbers.
All activities take place at or depart from the lovely Ewart House at 1 Richards Close, Harrow HA1 2BE.

Our board members meet four times a year to review our performance and standards and discuss future direction and strategy. A small number of volunteers serve on specialist committees to scrutinise more closely specific aspects of our service.
