HCHA is a charity exempted with the Charity Commissioners by the Charities Act 1992.

Registered under the Industrial & Provident Societies Act 1965 No 17410R.

Registered with the Tenant Services Authority (L0923).

We are a member of the National Housing Federation. Our governance standards meet all aspects of the National Housing Federation's code of governance.

Our volunteer board members bring to our work a broad range of relevant skills, knowledge and understanding.

The board is responsible for making we sure we are properly and efficiently managed and true to our founding purpose.

It regularly and critically scrutinises our services and performance. The board's own strengths and weaknesses are regularly reviewed.

 

 

JOHN NEWBY CHAIR 1994 to present

Former senior partner at JY and GW Johnson (now trading as Bromhead Johnson), chartered patent attorney. Currently secretary and trustee of Harrow Baptist Church and director of the London Baptist Property Board.

NORMAN SHURROCK VICE CHAIR 1997 to present

Retired in 1994 following long career in road freight transport and logistics. Volunteer at Harrow CAB and St Alban’s Church. Trustee of Harrow Community Transport. 

RAY GREEN TREASURER

Qualified accountant with 25 years experience in the housing sector. Currently finance director for Housing Solutions, a Maidenhead housing association with 4,500 properties.

ANTHONY ADAMSON

Chartered surveyor with 40 years in practice including development project manager for BEA, Trafalgar House development, City Merchant development, Natwest estate management and development and Omega Land.

PHILIP DEAN

Retired former financial controller for Central & Cecil HT and Ealing Family HA, part of the Catalyst Housing Group. Treasurer/trustee of Harrow Community Transport and an independent examiner for two small charities.

BARRY INGATE

Chartered accountant with extensive experience in the construction industry including 34 years in financial management roles for John Laing plc in the UK and overseas. Former chairman of Stanmore Christian HA and treasurer for various charities.

PAUL INGATE

Software developer running own company, mainly for the IT sector in telecoms.

IRIS KAVANAGH TENANT REPRESENTATIVE

Resident of sheltered housing scheme Paxfold, with two years service on social committee. Serves on HCHA’s tenants forum and Harrow Council’s supporting people forum and treasurer of the friends of Woodland Hall, a care home for people with Alzheimer’s.

JOYCE SHAW

Retired social worker. Over 40 years service covering community work, young people’s services and latterly as service manager for older people.

MIKE SHELTON

Retired solicitor and part-time deputy district judge (London Group of Courts, family and civil section). Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Secretary general to the International Dance Sport Federation (ISDF) professional division and delegate to its legal division. Director of the Sylvia Young Theatre School. Past and present trusteeships of music, dance and acting groups including National Youth Jazz Orchestra and Young Vic.
