Button5 HCHA wins first Hounslow bid

HCHA is to become the new landlord for sheltered tenants of Thames Valley Housing in Hounslow, following consultation with the tenants and a rigorous selection contest.

Dashwood Court will become our first property in the borough in October, and it will be our sixth housing scheme for older people.

The decision is fantastic news for us and we’ll do our very best to make sure it stays a fantastic decision for Dashwood Court tenants,’ said HCHA chief executive Christopher Holley.

‘We really are looking forward to finding out what the tenants at Dashwood Court most want us to do for them first and agreeing the style of management that will best suit all residents.

‘We’re also keen to introduce them to our older people’s forum where they can meet more of you to exchange ideas and opinions.’

HCHA was one of four housing associations invited to put in a bid to take over the ownership and management of Dashwood Court earlier this year.

Landlord Thames Valley Housing had decided its services were best focused on family and key worker housing but was keen to make sure its older people’s services went into good hands.

The pressure was on us, therefore, to convince Thames Valley Housing that we would be a good, caring and listening landlord. We hope this vote of confidence is just the start of great things for Dashwood Court.
